Terms & Conditions

These terms govern use of Somerset County Busted Mugshots. By viewing or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not accept every condition, stop using the site. The guide is offered for general reference and does not create a relationship with Somerset County, a public office, or any linked provider.

This privately owned site is not affiliated with a government body, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections department. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides an FCRA service for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening.

The Site’s Limited Role

This is a private reference guide, not a repository of official Somerset County records. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, file a request or court document, or speak for an agency.

Its links help readers locate county detention, sheriff, Maryland court, state corrections, and outside research resources. The Maryland Public Information Act, including General Provisions §4-203 where applicable, governs qualifying requests made to Maryland government custodians, not requests made to this site.

Acceptable Use

Use of the site must be lawful and must not harm another person, the service, or its providers.

  • Do not violate any local, state, or federal law.
  • Do not stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass anyone.
  • Do not use information for hiring, firing, housing or tenant screening, lending, credit, or insurance decisions.
  • Do not seek unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or data.
  • Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or automated extraction tools.
  • Do not impair the site or interfere with another visitor’s access.

No Consumer Reports or FCRA Use

Somerset County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports, and its advertising partners do not offer those services through this site. You agree not to use site or linked information for:

  • employment or termination decisions;
  • housing or tenant eligibility;
  • creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing;
  • licenses, permits, or government-benefit eligibility; or
  • any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

Outside Services and Links

Links may lead to jail lookups, sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, legal-help material, news pages, or private search services. A link is not an endorsement. We do not control a destination’s content, privacy practices, fees, results, security, or availability. Review that provider’s terms before using it.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are supplied “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties. We do not promise complete, accurate, or current information, uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors or security weaknesses, or comprehensive partner-search results.

Custody and court records can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Somerset County Detention Center, Maryland Judiciary, or DPSCS.

Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless otherwise stated, the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Somerset County Busted Mugshots or its content partners. You may not reproduce, distribute, alter, or republish them without prior written permission.

Revisions and Access

We may change these terms at any time, with revisions effective when posted. We may also suspend, limit, or revoke access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

Maryland Law

Maryland law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Maryland.

Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
